There was a special assembly at Freethorpe Community Primary and Nursery School last Wednesday. It was a day for celebrating the children's great work designing posters to encourage speed safety. Prize winners in each year group received book tokens and vinyl stickers of their designs. Their designs have also been made into A3 posters which will be on display on 30mph signs in the village soon. Judging was done by the Police Beat Manager, Norfolk County Council Highways Engineer and Parish Council representatives. All the posters that were shortlisted have been made into an e-book, which is available on the Parish Council website. It's definitely worth a read...Children's Speed Safety Poster e-book

We are very grateful to Norfolk Constabulary's Beat Managers for their road safety and speed safety work at the school, to the Head Teacher and the school for their support and enthusiastic work on this project, to Norfolk County Council Highways Department for their advice and support, to the judges, to District Councillor Grant Nurden and Parish Councillor Mike Blake for presenting the prizes and, most of all, to the children for their great work.
